I have always loved daydream doodling and especially once my little nephew was on his way, and I was asked to create his birth announcement card.

From when I was a kid, I have been creating visual stories. On sticky-notes, in study-books, or even on condensation-covered windows.

Animals, plants, strange looking water splashes on the floor or mysterious humans are usually my inspiration for illustrations and stories. I may or may not have stopped mid-walk to stare at a funny looking puddle once or twice...

When illustrating, I mostly use watercolour, pencil and ink, but I also work with drawing programs like Procreate.

I feel that both forms of media have their own advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, watercolours give a more 'authentic' look to an illustration, while digital media sometimes look more sleek. It all depends on what the illustration wants to convey and what it is used for!

When I step away from my drawings, I work as a Dutch teacher for children. I also study psychology, two things that quietly influence my drawings every day.
